A family memory

The Story Behind It

I got this recipe from a children's Highlights book, when my kids were in the early elementary grades. I have made hundreds of batches of these. Linda didn't like nuts, so for her, I would just add an extra ½ cup of chocolate chips, so she always had her own batch of these cookies!!!!

1

Ingredients

2 egg whites
⅔ cup white sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips

2

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until stiff.
Add salt and mix - Fold in pecans and chocolate chips
Place aluminum foil on cookie sheet. Drop dough by teaspoonful on un-greased foil.
Place in oven. TURN OVEN OFF.
Leave cookies in oven over night.
The following morning peel cookies off foil and ENJOY!!!
