Homemade Noodles

Shared by Kathleen Snyder

1

Ingredients

1 stewing chicken
Water
Seasonings as desired
1 egg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
About 1 cup flour

2

Directions

Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with water.
Add seasonings as desired.
Cook until the meat comes off the bones easily.
While the chicken cooks, make the noodles.
Beat the egg and salt together until fluffy.
Add baking powder and enough flour, about 1 cup, to form a dough.
Flour a board and roll the dough into a thin rectangle.
Cut into ½-inch-wide strips.
Let the noodles dry until the chicken is cooked and deboned.
Return the chicken to the broth and add the noodles.
Bring to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the noodles are done.
Add a thickener for a thicker gravy, if desired.
