The Story Behind It

Jan Aspseter married Clayton, grandson of Grace Shinn and son of Veda. Grace Ann Shinn was the sister of Walter Baker, Darline Baker Smith’s father.

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 eggs
½ tsp baking soda
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple with juice
½ cup chopped nuts
Frosting
1 cup brown sugar
½ stick margarine, softened
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
Nuts for topping

Directions

Mix sugar, flour, eggs, baking soda, crushed pineapple with juice and chopped nuts together in a mixing bowl.
Pour into a greased 9 × 12 × 2-inch cake pan.
Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
